Premier Location
Located adjacent to the old abandoned ghost town of Spook City; the Klondike Hollow Project 008 Lode Claim sits directly on a prominent geologic vein system known for producing commercial quantities of gold and silver with base metals of iron, manganese, and lead.
Featuring two main shafts with additional supporting surface workings, ore/tailings piles, and old miners cabin.
The claim has had 24 gold and silver fire assays completed on the old workings and vein system. The highest values were 0.46 ounces per ton in gold and 4.02 ounces per ton in silver. Average claim ore grades were 0.15 ounces per ton gold and 1.41 ounces per ton silver.
Overview
One of the keystone claims in our winter 2024 portfolio; the Klondike Hollow Project 008 Lode provides the best of both worlds to any potential buyer.
Not only do you have access to the two main shafts, but you also have multiple ore/tailings piles to re-process or hunt specimens in.
Access is great and traffic is very minimal due to the lack of continuous loop road infrastructure. This lack of high traffic access has been able to preserve this mine thru the years upon its premature closure.
Veins systems are easily delineated and high quality samples can be found on the surface. There are two prominent vein systems on this claim. The first vein system carries higher grades of gold and the second vein system carries higher grades of silver.
Camping
Camping is allowed on the claim for up to 14 days continuous.
Access
10.5 miles from the town of Saguache.
With no thru access the claim has minimal traffic and has largely been sheltered for years by the high elevation, and lack of continuous loop road infrastructure.
History
The Ford Creek/Bonita Hill area was primarily developed for its lode gold and silver sources. The lode mines are extensive with numerous adits, shafts, and trenches dug and developed upstream and on all side of this lode claim.
The lode mines were so rich that a small prospectors tent/cabin boom town sprung up nearby the mines claim called Spook City, old remnants of the town are still visible to this day.
Geology
Local alteration of early barren stage of alteration by fumarolic or acid hot spring activity resulted in intense silification, wall rock replacement by jasper and alteration products of hematite, diaspore, alunite, barite, zunyite, rutile, and kaolin minerals.
Later mineralization stage by alkaline or neutral solutions deposited ore and gangue and caused micaceous alteration (sericite and chlorite) and calcite, quartz, and pyrite.
