Overview:

The Gallinas Canyon #4 unpatented placer claim covers 20.00 acres of Upper Gallinas Canyon in Grant County New Mexico.  The claim boasts over 750 feet of stream bed to be mined in the tight narrow canyon.  Fine gold is easily locatable and will provide years of enjoyment for the small miner.

The creek is narrow with large boulders strewn throughout the claim.  On the east side of the claim there are beached dry gravel bars that consists of gold bearing material that gets washed and moved with every major rain.  The west side of the claim has a bedrock toe of the mountain that protrudes providing an excellent place to crevice for gold in these deep jagged bedrock crevices.

This claim can be easily panned, sluiced, dry washed or creviced.

Camping:

There is a free camping area outfitted with restrooms, bear proof trash containers, picnic tables, and fire rings located under old growth pine trees creek side.  A very tranquil and beautiful spot.  The claim is located less than 100' from the camping area.
