Overview

The Rock Ledge Claim is a 20.66 Acre unpatented Lode Claim located in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Featuring two small well intact mine shafts, an adit, and an exposed Gossan that was briefly surface mined; this claim is perfect for a recreational hard rock miner to a small mining company.

Numerous moderately sized tailings piles from the previous miners many years ago are still onsite and can be processed for additional starting revenue.

Basic District Overview

The ore body of the Rock Ledge lode claim is particularly easy to follow the vein and contact zones and within the shafts both of the veins and vein structures are well defined.  The veins are primarily carrying gold values with some additionally indicator base minerals such as copper and iron.

The surrounding mining district around the Rock Ledge lode claim has historically been mined for primarily gold and silver since the late 1800's.  Much of the geology is based on pinch and swell characteristics of the vein structure, this has led to the area being known for small mines following the swelling (widest) part of the vein system.  Consequently, the Rock Ledge Lode Claim is positioned overtop of a swell in the vein, this is the location the adit and shafts were sunk onto the highest grade ore body.

District gold averages range from .75 - 1.5 ounces per ton gold.

The Rock Ledge lode claim is accessible with 4WD vehicles or ATV.   Access to the the claim is via Forest Service RD 17 and then an unnamed spur road will take you directly to the center of the claim from Forest Service RD 17 to where the mine workings are located.
