Overview
The Texas Creek #1 Placer Claim features 800 feet of actively flowing stream. The water flow is extremely consistent during the Spring - Fall seasons. The water volume upon survey was large enough volume to run a dredge. There are two significant creek bends within the claim that afford excellent opportunities for gold to settle. Outside of the flowing creek rests large cobbles to small boulders with unique cracks and dry placer benches which would be perfect for metal detecting.
Gold
The gold found on the claim is primarily fine flour gold as most of the geological precious metals deposition occurs from Glacial till and fans. Small nuggets have been found on Texas Creek in the past but the primary gold size is fine gold to small flakes. Large amounts of pyrite, mica, and black sands were found during initial testing as well, don't mistake mica & pyrite for Gold!
Access
Easy 2WD access off of two way publicly paved road approximately 3 miles from the Taylor Trading post. Camping area is accessed via short dirt road within the center of the claim. heading NE thru the claim approximately following the creek.
Camping
Camping is allowed on the claim for up to 14 contiguous days. ATV and hiking trails can be picked up directly from the claim. The camping area is large enough to accommodate large fifth wheels just a short distance from the creek.
