Overview

Located 20 miles East of Quartzsite Arizona the Stafford Mine 003 lode claim has an assortment of old workings and drive up accessibility.

Numerous surface ore and waste piles sit on the surface next to the road.  Additionally, there is one significant open cut trench, a small shaft, numerous prospect pits and a collapsed tunnel.

This claim features higher than average gold values with the average ore value shipped to processing in the early 1900's is 0.34 oz/pt Au.

Quartzsite Arizona General Information 
Located in SW Arizona Quartzsite is a town of 1,745 full time residents and provides a haven from cold/snowy weather during the winter that attracts 750,000 RV campers seeking warm weather fun.  The town hosts numerous RV and Gem shows during the year.  To accommodate the influx of people there are 52 RV parks located in and around Quartzsite.  Additionally, the BLM has recognized the need for long term dispersed camping and has created numerous LTVA's that cover 11,400 acres around Quartzsite, a season permit to stay within the LTVA area is 180 USD and is valid for 7 months.  The LTVA's have dump locations for grey and black water, and fresh water fill up stations.  Finally, numerous larger towns exist approximately 30 miles east and west of Quartzsite that hold big box stores and large grocery stores.

 

The greater Quartzsite area is home to excellent recreational opportunities outside the scope of gold prospecting including an expansive trail system for hiking, and ATV/UTV recreation.

Access

Pickup Truck/SUV accessible via dirt BLM road system.  From the paved road the total dirt road driving is approximately 3 miles to the mine site.

Camping is allowed on the claim for up to 14 continuous days.
